Acute Kidney Injury Project

A regional study to evaluate performance in recognition and early management of AKI on acute medical units across the West Midlands. Acute kidney injury is common amongst hospitalised patients, affecting 13-18% of those admitted. It is an independent marker for increased mortality and has a significant impact on health resourses. As a result of this study we have made quality improvement recommendations and will be re-auditing later this year to ascertain their effect. Links to related posters

Founding of WAMC

WAMC was founded in 2015 with an aim of promoting collaboration in research, audit and education among the region's acute medical registrars. By combining our resources and experience we are able to produce work with a much greater impact than is possible as individuals. We hope to use our experience of building this network to help develop similar collaboratives in other Deaneries. Links to related posters
